Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji (ATA), Member House of Assembly representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 and Chairman House Committee on Transportation, on Thursday, October 1, gifted the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps officials (LNSC) with cash and other gifts in commendation of their service to Ifako-Ijaiye.
At an event which was tagged Security and Welfare of Frontliners, held at NRC Building, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area Office, the lawmaker eulogised the bravery and the heroic performance of the officials during the COVID-19 outbreak and the recent gas explosion that occurred in Iju Area, in which three of their officials were seriously affected by the incidence.
He expressed his sincere appreciation and thanks to the officials on behalf of the constituents, for always going the extra mile in protecting lives and properties, even without being armed.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), Engr. Olayinka Adekunle brought the goodwill message of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and also thanked ATA for being a responsible legislator. He added that Ifako-Ijaiye is blessed to have chosen right by electing him as their legislator.
Olayinka further used the occasion to celebrate Hon James Adisa Owolabi, Member House of Representatives, Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, whose birthday coincided with the 60th anniversary of the nation.

Owolabi thus thanked everyone and went on to appreciate the effort of the LNSC staff in Ifako-Ijaiye. He prayed for God’s protection over them and also used the occasion to assure the people affected by the gas explosion of federal government intervention to cushion their loss.
The representative of the Board Chairman of the LNSC, ACC Kabir Adelaja who doubled as the State Head of Admin for the Safety Corps showered praises on ATA and categorically stated that, he is the first elected officer giving back to the Corps and thereby making Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 the first in the state.
Hon. Mrs. Kofo Ajayi, APC Chairman, Deacon Banjo Omole and Community Development Committee Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye, Pastor Samuel Opajobi, amongst others also showered encomium on the prudent and responsive lawmaker, adjudging him as the best gift Ifako-Ijaiye has ever had in terms of representation at the State House of Assembly.
They however urged the LNSC officials to be more dedicated and show more Commitment to their duty.
The peak of the event was when Hon. Adewale took the microphone to announce the cash donation of 100,000 to the critically affected officials for medical. He also called out two others and gave them 50,000 naira each.
He further announced 10,000 naira to each of the other 123 members of the Corps, he promised to buy a new engine for their patrol van, purchase three (3) sets of computer system for their office use and also give them three (3) additional bicycles for their use.
Hon. Owolabi also donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) cash to the Corps, while the councillors through their leaders promised to hold a parliamentary session to honour them.
Responding to the gesture, CCS Olusegun Oshinfade, Divisional Commander of the LNSC requested for a minute silence in honour of Hon. Adewale’s late dad, Dr. Elijah Olu Adewale (Dr. Jah). He thereafter praised the honourable for being a true son of his father and a man with a good heart. He thanked him on behalf of Ifako-Ijaiye LNSC and promised to charge his members to do more.

Rotimi Adeleye (MM), and Hon. Kamoru Sunmonu (Brasco), Council Leader, Hon. Biodun Akinola, Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon. Adekanbi, amongst other party faithful and traditional leaders.
Hon. Rasheed Makinde, Member House of Assembly, representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 02, and Chairman House Committee on Special Duties also graced the event.
