BAO, ex-councillors honour Hon. Nureni at father’s funeral

The former council boss of Ojokoro LCDA, former SA on Commerce and former SA on Civic Engagement to the Lagos State Governor under the last administration, Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO), was the rallying point for former councillors of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, as one of their own, Hon Akanbi Nureni, buried his father in style.

The fidau prayer and final funeral of Late Chief Wahab Akanbi Oridanisi, the Ekerin of Maidan Town took place at Maidan, Ifo Local Government, Ogun State, on Thursday.

Hon. Olabinjo arrived at the venue after about two hours into the programme. The anchor person as well as the Muslim clerics quickly recognized his presence while he was summoned for close pleasantries, a gesture extended to the smart Alasalatus at the venue.

He was thus accompanied by the former Leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Niyi Fadare, former Deputy Leader, Hon. Rasheed Quadri (Black & Shine) and Hon. Segun Iwaloye.

Others are Hon. Mutiu Bakare, one of the pioneer councillors of the local government, the pioneer Supervisory Councillor for Health and a close ally of Hon. Nureni, and Hon. Omolaja Shodiya. They all rallied round Nureni who expressed delight at their presence at the event held in honour of his demised 97 years old father.

People & Politics recall that Hon. Nureni and Hon. Bakare served together in the local government between 1996-1998.
