Sen. Dino Melaye has vowed to contest the results of the Kogi West Senatorial election at the elections petitions tribunal. He described the election as a fraud, stating that the act of congratulating Sen. Smart Adeyemi by some people is virtually the same as celebrating an armed robber after a successful operation.
In the rerun conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Adeyemi having polled a total of 88,373 votes, against Melaye’s 62,133 votes, was returned as the winner and senator elect for Kogi West.

On his twitter handle, — Senator Dino Melaye. (SDM) (@dino_melaye) December 1, 2019, wrote, “Congratulating Sen. Adeyemi will amount to congratulating an armed robber after a successful operation. SDM.”
In another tweet, he wrote that the forces against him are not beyond God. He said people should not worry about him, “I’m fine and will always be.”
However, the self-acclaimed “democratic evangelist” has vowed to challenge the outcome of the election at the tribunal, noting that Sen. Smart Adeyemi is his political wife and he would defeat him again.
