Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saturday’s Kogi West Senatorial election, Sen. Dino Melaye (SDM), says his nephew who was allegedly shot at a polling unit on Saturday, has died.
Melaye said the man, Olorunjuwon, died on Sunday morning.
Taking to his Twitter handle @dino_melaye on Sunday, Melaye had tweeted:
My nephew Olorunjuwon who was shot at my pooling unit yesterday died this morning. My brother your death is a Supreme sacrifice in the struggle for the liberation of our people. Rest in peace aburo… So sad.

Mr. Melaye had published unofficial results of the election in a handful of areas on Saturday, ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He had also tweeted about alleged electoral frauds in certain polling units, saying his party’s vote results were being changed, tweeting:
