Kidnappers-free-Siasia’s-mother,-others

The 80-year-old Mrs. Beauty Ogere Siasia, mother of former Super Eagles skipper and coach, Samson Siasia, has been released by her abductors.

The Bayelsa State Police Command confirmed the release of Ogere on Sunday morning.

A member of the Siasia family, Eworikumo Siasia, also confirmed this in a chat with our reporter that the 80-year-old Madam Siasia had been freed and she is at home with family members at their Odoni country home in Sagbama Local Government Area.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, said the police command would issue an official statement later.

The former Nigeria coach and player Samson Siasia recently said he was still in the dark as to the whereabouts of his abducted mother thus solicited for help.

“The police said it’s been difficult to track these kidnappers, but my great concern is that my mother is very sick,” Siasia said.

“For someone who is unwell to be held against her will is not only callous, but heartbreaking and sad.

“So I can only keep appealing to these guys to please let my mother go. I would like for the government or whoever is capable to help me bring my mother back.”
