Jack Ma was in Nigeria today. He is the billionaire owner of Alibaba.com, the world renowned internet trading platform.
His Alibaba didn’t come with 40 thieves but landed in the Presidential Villa this morning with 10 other billionaires in different area of endeavors from pharmaceuticals, to insurance, high technology, entertainment and health.
A former school teacher who pioneered the e-trade business in China Jack Ma and his colleagues came on the invitation extended to him by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the last World Economic Forum in Davos.
Coming into the meeting straight from a 15 hour flight from Shanghai, China, Jack Ma said he is happy and delighted to be in Nigeria, a country he has longed to visit.
He promised to bring to the benefit of Nigeria his idea of the four Es: e-Infrastructure, e- Entrepreneur, e-Government and e- Education.

Jack Ma expressed his delight at the fact that four Nigerians are among the 10 people selected for e-Entrepreneur Competition holding among Africans. The event will take place for two days in Ghana. Ma said he is looking forward to Nigeria coming top in the competition.
Jack Ma and his colleagues were warmly welcomed by Osinbajo. He assured them of the cooperation of Nigeria government to benefit from the opportunities by the country’s population and the energy and creativity of her youths.
