Kaduna State Governor and former Minister of FCT, Nasir El-Rufai on Thursday, visited his Lagos counterpart, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
El-Rufai who felt disappointed and pained at the damage done to government properties in Lagos commiserate with the Lagos State Government, saying the extent of the destruction is way too much and will set the state back.
He described those that were vessels of the destruction as those on a self destructive mission, noting that there’s nothing wrong with protest or expressing displeasure, but he stated that it could be peacefully done in a civil setting like Lagos State.
“I almost shed tears at the level of damage and destruction done to government properties in Lagos State. The scarce resources that are meant for developing other areas will now be redirected to rebuilding the lost ones, that is setback and shared wastage.
“We shall however be willing to lend support to the government of Lagos in this trying times. My friend, the governor did all he could within his reach to avert the crisis and attacks on the protesters, but we need to move on now”.
Governor Sanwo-Olu appreciates the Kaduna State Governor, while he reiterated that his government will ensure that those culpable SARS officers that inflicted pain on residents of Lagos will be brought to book. He stated further that he won’t be discouraged in the mission to rebuild Lagos, despite all odds.
