Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Sokoto zonal office on Tuesday raided the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Sokoto State.
According to a source, the raid was triggered by a petition written by an ad hoc staff, engaged for the conduct of the February 2019 elections who alleged diversion and nonpayment of allowances.
When contacted, Abdullahi Lawal, EFCC Sokoto Zonal Office Commandant, confirmed the raid to our correspondent.

He said “Yes, it is true we visited the INEC Office, based on petitions before us. Some INEC principal officers were invited, and they are still with us for questioning.
“As it is right now, I cannot comment beyond this because investigation is still going on”
