Dapo Abiodun wasn’t wrong on Laycon’s Youth Ambassadorial appointment

It is no news that Olamilekan Agbelesebioba, popularly known as Laycon was the winner of BBNaija lockdown. But a lot of comments attracted the gesture received by the crowned winner from individuals, corporate organizations and state governments, most especially that of the Ogun State Governor.

Laycon, a Lagos based Ogun State indigene was appreciated by Governor Dapo Abiodun, with the sum of N5m and a two bedroom apartment.

No sooner than Laycon was invited, announced as the Ogun Youth Ambassador amidst other gestures, that the social media was bombarded with attacks and names calling on Dapo Abiodun. Nigerians, the youth in particular described the governor’s action as misplaced priority.

Some even dissociated themselves from the youths that Laycon represents as their ambassador. While others maintained that a lot of educated unemployed Ogun youths are out there seeking for appointment, and the governor in his wisdom decided to further enrich Laycon.

The question to be answered by the youths is why are they angry with the governor? Is it the governor that advocated and voted for Laycon at the same BBNaija house? No, it was the youths, they were the ones that followed, monitored, campaigned, voted and ensured the emergence of the young star. They crowned him first, they made him, the governor only agreed with them, while joining others to complement what they’ve done.

If the governor looked away from Laycon, the youths would still complain. The governor has not done anything wrong by his actions, those angry should stop transferring aggression. And if they have outstanding issues with the governor, they can slug it out with him but not on this one.
