A-25-year-old prophet of Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Adebowale Obaloluwa, has been remanded by an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for defiling a 14-year-old teenager.

When the charge was read on Monday, Magistrate, Mrs C. K Tunji-Carrena did not take his plea. She immediately ordered that the prophet, who is an interpreter of tongue be remanded in a correctional custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Ajiteru, told the Magistrate that Adebowale Obaloluwa committed the offence on Friday, November 15, at No. 1, Oduolu Street, Baiyeku, Igbogbo, Ikorodu at about 1:30am.

He also revealed that the Cherubim & Seraphim prophet decoyed the girl, who was accompanied by her friend to the church.

Obaloluwa however invited the teenage girl to his sleeping quarters during a prayer vigil and took advantage of her.

On getting home, the girl reported to her mother who in turn lodged a complaint at the police station. Consequently, the police arrested Obaloluwa.

The case has however been postponed till Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
