
A 200-level journalism student from a university in Cotonou, Benin Republic has been arrested by the officials of the National Youth Service Corps for illegally participating in the scheme with a fake certificate.
The journalism student identified as Rose has been handed over to the Department of State Services for proper investigation.
People & Politics gathered that Rose was arrested by officials of the NYSC in Zamfara camp while undergoing the just concluded Batch C Stream 1 orientation course.
She was accused of obtaining a fake certificate from a university in Benin Republic to facilitate her participation in the orientation exercise at the Zamfara camp.
Though, she’s a journalism student of another institution in Benin Republic, but at present, a 200-level student and not qualified yet until after completion of her four years programme.

Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, NYSC Director-General confirmed Rose arrest in Abuja.
The DG said Rose’s friends discovered her on social media, wearing NYSC uniform, when she was supposed to be in school, studying journalism at a university in Benin Republic and they alerted their school management.
Consequently, her institution wrote to the scheme with the attachment of the picture seen on social media in the Zamfara camp.
It was gathered that Rose has however been taken to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where she’s being investigated by the DSS.
