Comments have continued to trail the pictures of Bauchi state government officials that lined up at the Airport to receive the state governor’s new wife, Natasha Mariana.

Governor Bala Mohammed on Saturday, August 31, married a new wife from Lebanon.

Bala’s new wife, Natasha, arrived at the Bauchi state Government House after a wedding ceremony at the Syrian Mosque in Ikoyi, Lagos state.

She was received by a number of dignitaries including a former minister of environment and deputy secretary general of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.

Other political bigwigs including academicians, clerics, family and friends and well-wishers of the state were also present.

It was gathered that Mariana will become the second wife of the 60-year-old governor who is already married with children.

Commenting on the airport reception which has been described as “shameful and stupid”, Remi Mowo wrote on one of the posted pictures on Facebook, “I think a time will come when we should stop talking and commenting on absurdities like this, especially when people that are involved have some level of education and exposure. In this particular case, I will blame those commissioners and others that lined up. As for the governor, the people elected him and should suffer or enjoy his rule.”

Akinola Olatunji on his own part described this as “Height of stupidity, 100 days in office”. Others are:  Abel Orukpe-“That is why the state is backward”, Abdullahi Mohammed Moshood ,-“What a country…”, Ayo Baje,-“Have we lost it?”, he queried.

Daniel Oladele wrote, “Not surprise when those Politicians have turn themselves to something else.” Vivian Michael,-“Senior government officials at the airport receive new wife, Haba! Who advises these people? Priorities misplaced. It’s well.” Abubakar Umar,-“You can’t expect anything better from such a governor”, these among other comments.

People & Politics recall that the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sacked his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Musa Haruna Shittu.

Shittu was appointed along with four other Special Advisers on July 17, 2019 and was sworn-in two days later.

The news of his sacking was contained in a media statement signed by the governor’s spokesman, Dr. Ladan Salihu, on Friday, August 30, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

Salihu, who did not give reasons for the sack, said the disengagement was with immediate effect.

He said the governor thanked the former Special Adviser for his contributions towards the development of the state and wished him success in his future endeavours.
