It was joy all over Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency on Saturday, as Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO) yet again empowered 130 constituents with N100,000 each, after a 3-days skill acquisition programme.
The programme which started on Thursday was brought to a close on Saturday. 130 participants from different strata, ranging from community, chieftaincy, religious bodies, youths, students, and political parties were trained in different skills.
The classes were Cassava processing and supply, Small chops produce (Catering), Soap making, beads making and design, Shoe making and Makeup.
At the closing ceremony, each participants were presented with a start-up cash of N100,000. This amazed the beneficiaries who stated that it’s the first of its kind within Ifako-Ijaiye LG, for a political office holder not just to train but also empower them.
People & Politics reported that Hon. Olabinjo had previously organised a skill acquisition programme and empowerment for 150 beneficiaries that were also blessed with a startup cash of N65,000.

Hon.(Mrs) Funke Olaleye, Lagos All Progressives Congress Assistant Financial Secretary, during her remarks expressed pleasure that BAO is representing the party to the fullest. She applauded him as a worthy ambassador who also has the interest of the people as a priority.

“This can only happen because our party fielded a right candidate. And that speaks so much of APC, so I will tell you to continue to support our party and our candidates at all times”, she said.
Hon. Jelili Oseni, Party Chairman, Ojokoro LCDA averred that this is what happens when we have the right person in office, noting that dividends of democracy will not cease from the constituents. He gave a thumbs up to the working representative.
“Go and tell the people what our party and our representative is doing. You haven’t seen anything yet, the dividends of democracy has just begun to get to you. And BAO will not stop to make it happen, God’s willing”, the party Chairman said.
On his part, Deacon Banjo Omole, Party Chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye congratulated the 130 beneficiaries. He admonished them to make the best use of the given opportunity to life and be a boss of their own.
Further, he said a monitoring team will go around to see how well the beneficiaries put the startup capital to work. Omole applauded Olabinjo for making APC proud and giving joy to the constituents.
